Burn & Care
The FoxFire Burn
Our candles are wicked and tested to leave a veil of wax on the inner wall. As you enjoy each burn, that veil naturally thins; near the end, a slight trace will remain. This is intentional: the residual wax serves as a thermal buffer that protects the jar from excess heat, supports an even, steady flame, and helps the vessel last longer—especially for refills.
FoxFire Jar Care
-
Trim the wick to ¼ in (6–7 mm) before every burn.
-
Burn safely: keep on a heat-safe, level surface; away from drafts, kids, and pets.
-
Retire at ~¼ in of wax remaining. Let the candle cool completely before handling.
-
Remove & clean: lift out the remaining wax and wick tab, then wipe the vessel with a damp cloth. Do not scrape the sides with metal tools (spoons, knives, etc.).
-
Do not submerge in water, soak, or use chemical cleaners.
Using FoxFire Refills (Cypress Cores)
Before you begin
-
Make sure your FoxFire jar is cool, dry, and empty.
How to insert your refill
-
Prepare the jar: Set it on a level, heat-safe surface. Ensure the inside is dry and free of debris.
-
Expose the wick tab adhesive: Turn the refill over and peel off the wick-tab sticker from the underside.
-
Place and center: Lower the refill into your FoxFire jar, keeping the wick centered.
-
Press to secure: Apply gentle, even pressure on the top of the refill so the wick tab adheres to the bottom of the jar.
-
Trim & light: Trim the wick to ¼ in (6–7 mm) and light. Keep burns to 2–4 hours at a time for best performance.
Important notes
-
Refills are designed exclusively for FoxFire jars and are not intended for use in other containers.
-
Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep away from drafts, children, and pets.
-
Discontinue use if the jar is cracked or if the flame touches the side wall.
